Our Goals for 2020

2020 has just begun and now is the time to set goals for your business.

If you are a serious planner, you probably set goals at the end of 2019.

But if you’re like me, you’re just starting NOW!

But don’t worry, it’s better late than never…right?

I want 2020 to be a successful year for Digispotkenya and that’s why I sat down and took the time to evaluate what I want to achieve this year.

In this short post, I will share with you a list of the goals I want to achieve in the next 365 days.

Manage Time Better

I don’t know about you, but time management has been a real struggle for me in 2019.

I feel like a lot of time was wasted doing a lot of stuff that really didn’t add any value to the site.

If you’re a blogger, you’ve probably heard of the disease called procrastination.

Maybe you’ve experienced it at some point because it’s nothing new.

Well, procrastination was a major problem for me in 2019.

I pushed back a lot of projects that should have been done and over with as soon as possible.

This year, I hope to minimize the distractions as much as possible.

In 2020, my goal is to develop a workflow where everything is planned out.

For instance, each page of the 365-page book will have its own to-do list which I must accomplish in a specified amount of time.

That means coming up with a solid work schedule.

Content Goals

Another major goal for 2020 is to be more consistent with my content schedule. That’s mainly because I want to grow my page views.

In other words, I want to create more content for this website.

As bloggers, we all understand the value of content.

It’s probably the most important element of a blog or website. The truth is that people come to your site for the content and it’s also the content that will make them stay.

To achieve this goal, I have come up with a content calendar for Digispotkenya where I’m scheduled to publish at least 2 blog posts a week.

Promotion for Digispotkenya

In 2019, a lot of the focus was on designing the site, getting it launched and creating content.

I really didn’t spend a lot of time getting the name out there.

In 2020, promotion is at the top of the agenda.

To start with I’ve chosen Pinterest as our main marketing and promotion channel simply because it works wonders for bloggers.

This means that a lot of our time will be spent on growing the official Digispotkenya Pinterest account.

To save on time, I’ll make use of tools like Tailwind to schedule unlimited pins.

A secondary promotion channel will be Facebook.

Become more productive

As bloggers, it’s easy to get sidetracked.

The reason for this is that there are so many things involved in blogging.

You need to create content, promote it, build email lists, design graphics…the list is endless.

You may think that you’re working on your blog but in reality, you’re only focusing on one aspect of blogging while neglecting the others.

In 2020, I want to be more productive in terms of how I manage the site.

This means devoting time to each aspect of the site without neglecting another.

Bottom line

It’s very easy to set blogging goals but it isn’t easy to stick to it.

The challenge here will be following through on each and every goal i’ve set for the year.
